Hi, I have an Acer Notebook modelĀ TravelMate 8572TG with Windows 7 Professional Edition. The integrated webcam (Chicony) doesn't work. It is a driver problem surely. I have tried to restore original drivers by using the Acer eRecovery Management application but it still doesn't work. In addition I have noticed that original drivers available from the application mentioned above (v1.1.188.706) are different from those downloadable from the Driver & Support page on Acer website.

You are right! In fact, drivers downloadable from the Acer site cannot be installed because the hardware is not recognized by Windows.
I have used the Acer eRecovery Management application in order to restore original webcam drivers but after doing that, it still doesn't work! In addition, i have previously written that original drivers available from theĀ Acer eRecovery Management application installed on my computer, are not the same that can be downloaded from the Acer site. In particular, these ones exhist only for windos XP and not for windows 7 Professional 64 bit that is my operative system! Just a side note, it's not impossible that your camera has physically disconnected from your devices mainboard. If my suggestion doesn't work I would suggest one further test before saying that's what's going on. You can always try to do a system recovery using the eRecovery tool you were using to reinstall the drivers.
It's nice to be able to reinstall drivers from there but it's not always 100% effective. So basically you would have to backup any important data (music, videos, pictures, etc.) and then run the eRecovery option to do the restoration.
