Author by: George Bekefi Language: en Publisher by: MIT Press Format Available: PDF, ePub, Mobi Total Read: 79 Total Download: 647 File Size: 44,6 Mb Description: The book describes the features that vibrations and waves of all sorts have in commonand includes examples of mechanical, acoustical, and optical manifestations of these phenomena thatunite various parts of physics. The main emphasis, however, is on the oscillatory aspects of theelectromagnetic field—that is, on the vibrations, waves, radiation, and the interaction ofelectromagnetic waves with matter. Author by: S. Kaliski Language: en Publisher by: Elsevier Format Available: PDF, ePub, Mobi Total Read: 14 Total Download: 727 File Size: 43,6 Mb Description: This book gives a comprehensive overview of wave phenomena in different media with interacting mechanical, electromagnetic and other fields. Equations describing wave propagation in linear and non-linear elastic media are followed by equations of rheological models, models with internal rotational degrees of freedom and non-local interactions. Visual Studio 2002 Download Free. Equations for coupled fields: thermal, elastic, electromagnetic, piezoelectric, and magneto-spin with adequate boundary conditions are also included. Together with its companion volume Vibrations and Waves.

Part A: Vibrations this work provides a wealth of information about dynamical phenomena in different media and fields, which will be of considerable interest to both scientists and graduate students. Electromagnetic Vibrations, Waves. On the vibrations, waves, radiation, and the interaction of electromagnetic waves with matter.

Author by: Vincent Savaux Language: en Publisher by: John Wiley & Sons Format Available: PDF, ePub, Mobi Total Read: 74 Total Download: 897 File Size: 43,5 Mb Description: This book presents an algorithm for the detection of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal in a cognitive radio context by means of a joint and iterative channel and noise estimation technique. Based on the minimum mean square criterion, it performs an accurate detection of a user in a frequency band, by achieving a quasi-optimal channel and noise variance estimation if the signal is present, and by estimating the noise level in the band if the signal is absent. Organized into three chapters, the first chapter provides the background against which the system model is presented, as well as some basics concerning the channel statistics and the transmission of an OFDM signal over a multipath channel. In Chapter 2, the proposed iterative algorithm for the noise variance and the channel estimation is detailed, and in Chapter 3, an application of the algorithm for the free-band detection is proposed. In both Chapters 2 and 3, the principle of the algorithm is presented in a simple way, and more elaborate developments are also provided. The different assumptions and assertions in the developments and the performance of the proposed method are validated through simulations, and compared to methods of the scientific literature.
