I have a slightly clunky (pre-Intel) iMac on which I still run 10.3.9 (so-called 'Panther'). I have been flailing around at CNET and some other download sites for several hours, but cannot seem to find a version of VLC Media Player that will definitely work with OSX 10.3.9. Well, I suppose I am still monstrously lost. I got the 'vlc-plugin-0.8.6i-powerpc.dmg' on the desktop, I then got it open and, I thought, doing what it is supposed to do by clicking on it (which got me to the point of having a folder called 'vlc-plugin-0.8.6i' on the desktop, as well as the aforementioned 'vlc-plugin-0.8.6i-powerpc.dmg' there. However, it has gotten me nowhoere. I am trying to get back into the Mac world again by going after it on this oler iMac.
